What is Muscle Testing?

Muscle testing is performed by a health care provider to determine the strength of certain muscles or muscle groups throughout the body. This can be helpful for assessing the muscle's ability to function, which muscles are potentially trying to help or assist it and if there are compensation patterns happening if the muscle is not contracting appropriately with the proper strength or through a proper range of motion.
